
The Somerset Record Society has helped to tell the story of Somerset for over a century. By becoming a member of the Society you can assist in supporting us continue to make more of our county history available. Members elect the Council that manages the affairs of the Society through their attendance at the Society’s annual general meeting, where Council members report on the Society’s past activities and discuss future developments.Become a Member of the Somerset Record Society…
As part of your membership you will receive a copy of each of the Society’s new publications as soon as they are published. Each of these is a properly bound book which is sent to each members home address without charge. You will also receive a copy of the the Society’s newsletter Off the Record. This keeps members up to date on the affairs of the Society, gives news on forthcoming volumes and includes short articles regarding local history.

If you live at the same address as a full Member of the Society, you may choose to become an Associate Member. Associate members are entitled to vote at the Society’s annual general meeting, but do not receive a copy of each volume on publication. Please email us using the form below if you would like an Associate membership with the words ‘Associate Membership’ in the subject.
The Society is a registered charity (310292) and can reclaim income tax on subscriptions from UK members who are taxpayers and who complete and return the gift aid declaration which can be found on the application form.
The easiest way to become a member of the SRS is to buy an online subscription here where you can pay by Credit/Debit card or PayPal.
If you don’t want to pay online you can download and complete this application form* and send it, along with a cheque for your first year’s subscription to the Honorary Treasurer:
